Luminova Education supports high-school students in mathematics, physics and computer science through clear explanations, deliberate practice and thoughtful family communication.
The goal is not to complete work on a student's behalf. Instruction should help students interpret problems, choose strategies, explain their reasoning and gradually work with greater independence.

Felix Huang
Felix has more than 20 years of experience teaching high-school subjects. He founded Luminova Education to connect more closely with students and have the flexibility to tailor instruction to their individual needs.
Education
Master’s degree in mathematics from the University of Washington; master’s degree in computer science from Arizona State University.

Our teaching philosophy has helped many students succeed. It is built on four principles:

Students should know what a method means, when it applies and how to check whether an answer is reasonable.
Purposeful practice builds confidence
Practice helps students recognize patterns, address gaps and apply ideas in new situations. By practicing explanations of their reasoning, students build confidence and learn to work independently.
Families deserve clarity
Parents should understand the current focus, expected practice and signs of progress without receiving unnecessary private details.
Academic integrity
Support the student without replacing the student.
Luminova instructors should help students understand and complete their own work. They should not take examinations, complete graded assignments or produce application work on a student's behalf.
